International Conference about promoting the role of women in interfaith dialog and countering violent extremism

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Institute for Interfaith Dialogue organized a two-day conference in Pristina for addressing the crucial role of women in developing interfaith dialogue and combating violent extremism.

The conference identified the broad range of Global challenges in ensuring reconciliation in post-conflict countries and reaching common religious understanding that transcend violent extremism.

This conference was the 5th in the row that covered discussions, presentations as well as practical workshops with exchanges of know-how on improving social activism and strengthening the message against religious extremism, always keeping the focus on the role of women in the contemporary debate of CVE and Interfaith Dialogue. This event marked the presence of two Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, Dr. Shirin Ebadi (2003 winner from Iran) and Mrs. Tawakkol Karman (2011 winner from Yemen) while Kosovo Award for Interfaith Dialogue was granted to Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Founder of Community of Sant Eggidio Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia.

Medica Kosova Director contributed in this conference through presenting the experience on promoting the role of women in preventing embrace of violent extremism by their family members.
